Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) is a specifically designed package for in-service Untrained Teachers working in Primary / Upper Primary Schools of different states of the country. The programme aims at enabling the target group to develop in them Skill, Competencies, Attitudes and Understanding to make Teaching and Learning more effective.

The Objectives of the programme is to enable Teachers to understand and address diversity in their context . Empower teachers to improve Quality of classroom. To develop capacity in them to promote Child Friendly Processes in School. It makes teachers familiar with appropriate teaching process.

ELIGIBILITY – Untrained teachers working at primary level (I to V) having Sr. secondary qualification with at least 50% marks in aggregate (for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates a relaxation of 5% marks) and untrained teachers working at upper primary level (VI to VIII) having B.A. / B.Sc. qualification . State sponsorship is compulsory.

Duration – The minimum duration of the programme is 2 years. For B.Ed. qualified the programme is of 6 months.
